The North West of England received the highest number of Green Flag Awards, with 217 spaces being recognized. Greater London followed closely behind, receiving 215 awards. Keep Britain Tidy, which manages the Green Flag scheme, noted that the decision to apply for an award rests with individual local authorities and land managers. This year's awards marked the 30th anniversary of the Green Flag scheme, with a record number of accolades presented nationwide.
