Noida is on track to unveil its inaugural Deer Park by December 2026. The 30-acre facility, situated within the expansive 75-acre Biodiversity Park in Sector 91, represents a significant investment of Rs 40 crore. This ambitious project is being developed as a mini-zoo, adhering to the stringent norms set by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA).
Development commenced in December 2025, with an initial completion target of June 2026. However, construction activities were hampered by Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) restrictions, leading to a revised completion date of December 2026. The park is set to house nine distinct species of deer, including the mouse deer, hog deer, and sambar deer, alongside various bird species. Efforts are underway to source these animals from zoos across India and from rescued populations, with proposals to import exotic African species such as springbok and impala.
Essential infrastructure, including dedicated deer enclosures, pathways, ticket counters, and a veterinary clinic, are under construction. The Noida Authority board greenlit the Deer Park project in June 2024, followed by the development of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and subsequent approvals. This initiative promises to expand Noida's urban green cover, offer recreational opportunities, and serve as a hub for scientific research and environmental awareness concerning deer behavior and conservation.
