Noida Authority Tackles Unsanitary Conditions in Sarfabad Village

On November 1, 2025, the Noida Authority carried out an inspection in Sarfabad village and its surrounding areas, including the Shiv Mandir area, Rajpal Public School stretch, and behind Mahadev Apartments. The inspection revealed several issues related to waste management and sanitation in the locality.

The general manager of the Noida Authority, AK Arora, stated that an adequate number of vehicles had not been deployed for door-to-door garbage collection in Sarfabad village. He has issued instructions to the private contractor to immediately ensure sufficient deployment of collection vehicles to improve waste management services.

The inspection also uncovered other problems, such as dairy operators releasing cow dung into open drains and several nullahs near residential clusters being choked with silt. Officials have now asked the health department to conduct a 10-day sanitation drive to desilt drains and improve water flow, particularly in areas near local schools and temples.

Additionally, the inspection teams found illegal dumping of construction material behind Mahadev Apartment and the accumulation of garbage in vacant plots, which were flagged as environmental hazards. The authorities have ordered the removal of this waste within three days and sought status reports from relevant departments on land-use compliance.

The Noida Authority has taken several immediate actions to address the issues identified during the inspection, including directing the repair or replacement of damaged drain gratings, relaying of roads, and raising of drain levels to prevent waterlogging in Sarfabad village.
