Noida Chills: Coldest Jan Night in 2 Years Hits Delhi-NCR
10 Jan
Summary
- Noida AQI returned to 'very poor' category after brief improvement.
- Delhi-NCR experienced its coldest January night in two years.
- Minimum temperature dropped to 4.6 degrees Celsius, the season's lowest.

Noida's air quality index has once again entered the 'very poor' category, a concerning trend after a brief improvement. Despite light morning rain, pollutants persisted, with AQI readings reaching 365 in Noida and similar levels in Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. This marks a significant deterioration from the previous day's 'poor' air quality.
Simultaneously, Delhi-NCR experienced the coldest January night in two years. The minimum temperature plummeted to 4.6 degrees Celsius on Friday morning, the lowest of the season and two degrees below normal. This sharp drop in temperature is attributed to consistent icy westerly winds blowing through the region.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for moderate to dense fog expected on Saturday morning. While no cold wave was officially declared, the dipping temperatures and persistent fog signal a challenging weather outlook for the coming days.
