Summary
- Four wildlife rescue centers are becoming operational soon.
- These centers will handle human-wildlife conflict animals.
- They aim to improve medical rehabilitation and relocation efforts.

Four new wildlife rescue centers established in Ranipur, Pilibhit, Sohagi Barwa, and Meerut are nearing operational status. These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to tackle the increasing challenge of human-wildlife conflict across Uttar Pradesh.
The centers will function as crucial rapid-response units and medical rehabilitation hubs. Their establishment addresses the urgent need highlighted last year when an unprecedented number of conflict animals, primarily leopards, were captured. This surge overwhelmed existing reserve forests and state zoos.
Equipped with advanced veterinary units, operation theaters, and quarantine areas, the centers will streamline the treatment and assessment of captured animals. This will facilitate their rehabilitation and release into suitable forest habitats, thereby improving overall wildlife management and public safety.
