The Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) is celebrating the recent arrival of numerous animal and bird species, underscoring its commitment to breeding and conservation initiatives. The park has seen the birth of six Emu chicks, a Black Swan cygnet, two Sambar Deer, two Nilgais, and three Black Bucks over the past few weeks, significantly expanding its diverse collection.
Specialized breeding techniques were employed for some of the newer inhabitants. IGZP Curator G. Mangamma highlighted the successful hatching of Black Swan and Emu eggs within specially designed artificial incubators. These incubators were crucial in maintaining the precise temperature and humidity levels necessary for successful incubation.
The health and growth of the young Black Swan and Emu chicks are currently under the close observation of the zoo's dedicated veterinary team. These recent births represent a notable success in the zoo's continuous efforts toward conservation breeding and effective species management, contributing to the preservation of various animal populations.
