Mumbai Water Woes: 87-Hour Low Pressure Alert!
19 Dec
Summary
- Mumbai areas face 87 hours of low water pressure from Dec 22-26.
- Metro Line 7A construction necessitates water pipeline work.
- Residents urged to store water and use it sparingly.

Mumbai is set to experience substantial water supply interruptions in several key areas over a four-day period. From December 22 to December 26, residents in parts of G North, K East, and H-East wards will face low water pressure and altered supply timings for approximately 87 hours. This disruption is crucial for the diversion of a 2400 millimeter diameter Upper Vaitarna main water pipeline.
The extensive work is being undertaken to facilitate the ongoing Metro Line 7A project. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has emphasized the importance and planned nature of this essential infrastructure task, urging affected citizens to prepare. Specific areas within Dharavi, K East ward neighborhoods like Kabir Nagar and Bamanwada, and H-East ward localities including Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) will see these changes.
Authorities are appealing to all affected citizens to store adequate water supplies in advance and to use water sparingly throughout the duration of the repair work. Additionally, for health precautions, residents have been advised to boil and filter their drinking water for a few days following the resumption of normal supply.
