During a review meeting, municipal commissioner Ashwini Bhide directed officials to rigorously implement the BMC's 28-point guidelines for pollution control. A key measure involves appointing nodal officers across Mumbai to oversee work sites at significant infrastructure projects, ensuring strict monitoring of dust emissions. These efforts are crucial to maintain the current satisfactory air quality, which has been aided by monsoon rains but is expected to degrade with the monsoon's withdrawal and potential El-Niño conditions.
