28 Jun
Summary
- Software glitch at water facility caused pressure loss.
- Boil advisory issued for specific low-service area.
- Advisory remains in effect for at least 24 hours.

A software malfunction at the Miamisburg Water Treatment Facility on 2026-06-28T18:38:51+00:00 led to a significant loss of water pressure in the Low Service Area. This area is defined as north of Benner and west of 12th Street/Linden Ave.
As a precautionary measure, a boil advisory has been put into effect for the affected residents. This advisory is expected to last for a minimum of 24 hours to guarantee the water's safety. Public Works crews are actively distributing door hangers to inform all residents within the impacted zone.
Residents are instructed to boil all water for drinking and cooking, ensuring it reaches a rolling boil for at least one minute. This process effectively eliminates harmful bacteria and viruses. The advisory covers water for consumption, including ice made from tap water. For dishwashing, a solution of unscented bleach and water is recommended for manual cleaning, while dishwashers with hot rinse cycles are considered safe.
