A critical missing link in Lucknow's Green Corridor project is nearing completion and is expected to open to traffic next month. This development will significantly ease congestion on the busy Daliganj-KGMU stretch, benefiting approximately one lakh commuters. The project's final stage, the Daliganj-Pakka Pul section, is in its last phase of construction.
In parallel, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has approved plans for a new 240-meter-long railway overbridge at the Kot Pipraghat crossing. This new structure, part of the Green Corridor's third phase, will improve connectivity between the Cantonment area, Ayodhya Road, and Kanpur Road. The entire third phase, covering six kilometers, is targeted for completion before March next year.
The Green Corridor's earlier phases have already demonstrated success, with the first phase operational for two years and the second phase reducing travel times between Daliganj and Samtamulak Chowk. The Ministry of Defence has granted permission for the use of Army land required for the Kot Pipraghat overbridge construction.
