Sanitation Failures Exposed in Lucknow Wards

During a recent inspection of several wards in Lucknow, including Hazratganj and Lalbagh, significant lapses were identified in sanitation, drainage, and the maintenance of civic facilities. Minister Suresh Khanna and Mayor Sushma Kharakwal led the oversight, noting issues like poor drain cleaning and accumulated rubbish in areas such as Vikramaditya-Mahatma Gandhi ward. Officials were promptly instructed to rectify these problems and improve regular monitoring to ensure cleanliness norms are met.

Further directives were issued regarding waste management and infrastructure upkeep. In the Diamond Dairy-Udayganj area, officials were tasked with clearing debris from vacant plots and imposing penalties on responsible parties. In Babu Banarasi Das ward, repairs to the Haider canal's retaining wall were mandated, alongside regular canal-side cleaning. Meanwhile, in Lalkuan ward, the relocation of drinking water pipelines and timely rubbish collection were emphasized.

Minister Khanna stressed that Lucknow, as a historic city, cannot tolerate negligence in its civic services and vowed strict action against erring officials. Mayor Kharakwal reiterated the administration's commitment to providing a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all residents, highlighting these efforts as a top priority for the city's well-being and reputation.
