Leopard Rampage Ends in Tragedy as Villagers Overpower Big Cat

On Saturday, a leopard that had strayed out of the Kadunala forest area and entered the villages of Bhaindpur and Biraipur in Amethi, unleashed panic among the local residents. The big cat roamed the villages for nearly three hours, jumping into homes, growling on roads, and attacking unsuspecting villagers, leaving five people injured.
Authorities immediately deployed police, PAC, and forest department teams to the area in response to the leopard attack. Rescue efforts were initiated, and expert teams were called in from Lucknow and Bahraich to assist in capturing the animal. However, the leopard kept evading capture and took shelter near a brick kiln in a nearby forested area.
Tragically, around 5:30 AM on Sunday, the leopard's body was discovered inside a cattle enclosure. According to officials, the leopard had pounced on some buffaloes but was overpowered and killed by them in the struggle. A post-mortem examination is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the leopard's death.
The incident has raised concerns over human-wildlife conflict in the area and the preparedness of the local administration in handling such emergencies. The leopard's rampage had created widespread fear among the villagers, and its mysterious death has left many questions unanswered.
