- The sole surviving house is listed with a guide price of £35,000.

The last standing house in the former Welsh mining village of Troedrhiwfuwch is set to be auctioned. Hundreds of residents, along with their pets, departed the village in 1985 due to escalating fears of a major landslide. Nestled in the Rhymney Valley, the village was once a thriving community with numerous amenities.
Only 2 Lawrence Terrace remains, with auctioneers placing its guide price at £35,000. This three-bedroom house, which also includes reception rooms, a kitchen, and bathroom on the ground floor, features front and back gardens. It stands as a solitary testament to a community that once comprised 94 houses across three streets.
The local council had long harbored concerns about the area's geology and the moving mountain. These worries culminated in a council decision to relocate all residents and subsequently demolish the majority of the village's structures. The auction for this unique property begins online on June 23, 2026, and concludes on June 25, 2026.
