On the night of October 10, 2025, residents of Banjari village in Kota, Rajasthan were startled when an 8-foot, 80 kg crocodile crawled into a local home. The family immediately alerted authorities, but no rescue team arrived for hours, leaving the villagers in a state of panic.
Sensing the urgency of the situation, wildlife enthusiast Hayat Khan from the nearby Itawa sub-division rushed to the scene with his team. They carefully taped the crocodile's mouth shut, tied its legs, and carried the massive reptile out of the house in a dramatic rescue operation that lasted nearly an hour.
After securing the crocodile, Hayat and his team released it safely into the Chambal River the following morning. This was the third such incident in Banjari village over the past year, as a nearby pond has become a home to several crocodiles, causing fear and disruption among the locals.
Residents are now demanding a permanent solution from the authorities to address the growing crocodile problem, which has made daily life increasingly difficult in the area.
