Chhattisgarh Reservoir Gains Global Wetland Status

Kopra Reservoir in Chhattisgarh has been recognized as a wetland of international importance, earning the prestigious Ramsar site designation. This global acknowledgment stems from the reservoir's abundant biodiversity, diverse bird habitats, and successful water conservation initiatives. The State Wetland Authority, environmental experts, and local communities were instrumental in meeting the stringent international standards required for this honor.

This achievement aligns with the state's ambitious "Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision 2047," which sets a goal to secure Ramsar status for 20 wetlands by the year 2030.
