In Brisbane, Australia, a CityGlider bus driver recently became an unlikely hero when he rescued a koala from a busy road. The driver noticed the marsupial darting through traffic on Wiles Street and, concerned for its safety, safely brought the animal onto the bus.
Koala Rescue Brisbane South was alerted and arrived to take the koala, affectionately named Peri, to an RSPCA wildlife hospital. Experts assessed Peri, confirming the koala was in good health and did not require further treatment.
Following its rescue and check-up, Peri was relocated to the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve. The koala has now been safely returned to its natural habitat, concluding a remarkable rescue that highlights community care for wildlife.
