The Kozhikode Corporation has launched the Re-VERSE campaign, encouraging attendees of the ongoing Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) to adopt plastic-free habits. The initiative, supported by the District Cleanliness Mission, aligns with the UN's #SolveDifferent call and operates under the motto 'Read for the mind, reuse for the Earth, and repeat for the future.'
Mayor O. Sadasivan emphasized that Kozhikode's UNESCO City of Literature designation should extend beyond discussions to personal actions. He urged visitors to forgo single-use plastic bottles and opt for reusable alternatives like steel bottles, cups, and towels. Writers and speakers are also encouraged to raise environmental awareness during their sessions.
