An exhibition at UNESCO in Paris, a joint effort by the Carabinieri and Italy's Permanent Delegation, celebrates the Carabinieri's role in safeguarding biodiversity. Italy, home to Europe's most extensive natural wealth, presented its conservation initiatives through interactive displays.
The Carabinieri's commitment extends to combating illegal waste, protecting agricultural excellence, and defending natural reserves. General C.A. Fabrizio Parrulli emphasized that this work is a call to awareness for future generations.
UNESCO, through its 'Man and the Biosphere' program, supports environmental protection and sustainable development. Italy currently holds the vice-presidency of this program, overseeing a global network of Biosphere Reserves, including 21 within Italy.
Ambassador Liborio Stellino noted that while the Carabinieri are known for cultural heritage protection, their equally vital work in biodiversity defense is now being highlighted as a replicable global model.
