Ferry Services Resume Amid Gale Warnings
11 Mar
Summary
- Ferry sailings between Isle of Man and Lancashire have restarted.
- Severe gales are forecast, potentially causing further cancellations.
- Passengers can rebook sailings free of charge if affected.

Ferry services connecting the Isle of Man and Lancashire have recommenced, though a warning of potential further disruptions has been issued. Four sailings scheduled between Wednesday evening and Thursday night faced cancellation risks due to an anticipated severe gale.
These adverse weather conditions had previously led to the cancellation of Tuesday's afternoon and evening crossings between Douglas and Heysham. The Ronaldsway Met Office has forecast gusts reaching up to 65mph (104km/h) on the island for Thursday, prompting these warnings.
The ferry operator has assured passengers that they can reschedule their journeys at no extra cost. Customers are encouraged to manage their bookings online or by contacting the reservations team.
