On the occasion of Dasara, Hyderabad police conducted raids at three locations, leading to the rescue of four Indian Rollers, the state bird of Telangana. Two birds were discovered in confined cages near a place of worship in Langar Houz, and subsequently transferred to forest officials. Two additional birds were found caged in Chatrinaka and Mangalhat, near other places of worship, and also handed over to the forest department. Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar issued a stern warning, stating that any harm to the state bird will be met with stringent legal consequences. He confirmed that actions are being initiated against those responsible in collaboration with the forest department.
