Haryana State Pollution Control Board Chairman Vinit Garg chaired a high-level meeting in Gurugram to assess progress on the Yamuna Action Plan. The review specifically addressed pollution control in drains like Badshahpur's Leg-1, Leg-2, and Leg-3, and Jhajjar's Drain No. 8 and Mungeshpur drain. These waterways ultimately flow into the Yamuna in Delhi, making local cleanup efforts vital for improving the river's water quality.

Garg emphasized the need for timely completion of projects for tapping drains and establishing sewage and common effluent treatment plants. He mandated strict monitoring of wastewater and industrial effluents, announcing zero tolerance for illegal dumping and directing authorities to issue challans and FIRs for serious offenses. Police were tasked with intensifying checks in vulnerable zones to prevent environmental damage.

The meeting also covered solid waste management at the Bandhwari landfill, focusing on legacy waste disposal and leachate treatment. Agencies were directed to expedite tendering processes and strengthen source segregation, aligning with National Green Tribunal directives.
