- Committee inspected sewage treatment plants and waste management systems.
- New sewage treatment plant to reduce Yamuna canal pollution load.

A committee from the Haryana Vidhan Sabha has mandated that no untreated sewage or industrial effluent will be discharged into the Yamuna canal or any other water body. This directive was issued during an inspection of projects in the Yamunanagar-Jagadhri twin city, led by MLA Laxman Singh Yadav. The committee stressed the critical link between environmental protection and public health.
During a review meeting with senior officials, the committee sought detailed information on sewage treatment plants (STPs), solid waste management, and industrial wastewater disposal. They instructed officials to complete all pending work and strictly follow environmental norms. Inspections covered the Kail Solid Waste Management Plant and the Saraswati Sugar Mill STP, with clear directions for complete treatment of industrial effluent.
Progress on the under-construction 77 MLD sewage treatment plant at Jammu Colony was also reviewed. Officials stated this plant is crucial for scientific sewage treatment and will substantially decrease the pollution load on the Yamuna canal. Committee members emphasized inter-departmental coordination, regular audits, water quality testing, and prompt action against negligence.
