Gurugram Residents Urged to Join Green Aravalli Campaign

In a recent event held in Manesar, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav has urged the residents of Gurugram to contribute at least an hour every Sunday morning to the Green Aravalli campaign. The minister believes that this small yet consistent effort could significantly increase the city's greenery, reduce pollution, and help maintain a healthy environment.

The state-level wildlife week celebration event, organized to promote wildlife conservation, protect biodiversity, and raise public awareness about environmental protection, also saw the inauguration of the Aravalli species nursery. This nursery will serve as a center for the propagation, conservation, and replanting of native plant and tree species in the Aravalli mountain range, supporting the Green Aravalli campaign's goal of expanding green cover, providing natural habitats for wildlife, and preserving local biodiversity.

Haryana's Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh emphasized that the survival of wildlife depends on the survival of forests, and any imbalance would disturb the planet's ecological stability. He stressed that it is every citizen's duty to protect animals and birds and preserve forests. During the event, 750 saplings were planted at the Namo Van, and a tree-plantation drive was launched across 500 acres, with all participants pledging to care for the new plantings.
