Gurugram Launches Citywide Cleanliness Blitz: Officials Demand Spotless Streets by Deadline

On October 28, 2025, Gurugram's divisional commissioner, RC Bidhan, chaired a review meeting on the city's sanitation system at the Mini Secretariat. Bidhan emphasized that maintaining hygiene and cleanliness is a public service mission that requires commitment and accountability at every level.

The commissioner directed officers to ensure timely garbage collection, with trolleys emptied at least twice daily and no location left without collection points. Dedicated sanitation workers must be deployed to prevent littering and raise awareness among citizens. Bidhan set a 3-day deadline for visible improvements, stating that all roads, streets, and vulnerable points must be thoroughly cleaned, with no trace of dirt or waste.

During the meeting, it was also decided that a joint enforcement team comprising officials from the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, Regional Transport Authority, and police department will conduct raids to identify and seize vehicles found illegally dumping waste. Such vehicles will only be released after court approval, ensuring strict compliance and deterrence.

Bidhan warned that disciplinary action would be taken against negligent officials, and he directed the municipal corporation to provide additional teams to intensify sanitation operations across all areas. The commissioner emphasized that Gurugram's cleanliness standards should be so consistent that "anyone inspecting at any time should find no trace of dirt or garbage."
