Investigators found visible dust on 34 out of 125 inspected road stretches, indicating a need for improved on-ground actions by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram.
These deficiencies include inadequate mechanical sweeping, waste removal, water sprinkling, and instances of open burning. The CAQM noted that many dusty roads also suffered from accumulated solid and construction waste, highlighting serious lapses in routine maintenance and enforcement across residential areas.
Concurrently, the air quality in Delhi has deteriorated, with its 24-hour average AQI reaching 385 by Saturday afternoon, placing it in the 'very poor' category. Experts predict this poor air quality will persist for the next six days, offering little immediate relief.
