During a recent visit, a UNIDO-led team, including municipal commissioners, reviewed GMC's pioneering projects. They expressed satisfaction with the coordinated efforts in bolstering public health and sanitation services, recognizing the significant potential for expanded cooperation between the Centre and UNIDO in these crucial sectors.
Key projects showcased included the deployment of electric autos for waste collection and city cleanliness drives, alongside the establishment of e-auto charging stations at reservoirs. These efforts underscore GMC's dedication to adopting eco-friendly technologies and enhancing urban development practices.
The delegation also witnessed the door-to-door waste collection system, examining waste segregation at the source and community awareness campaigns. Furthermore, they visited a floating solar power plant at Sangam Jagarlamudi, which not only generates clean energy but also conserves water resources.
