On November 4, 2025, a 35-year-old farmer named Chowda Naika was attacked and killed by a tiger while working in his maize field in Mysuru's Hale Heggudilu village. This incident marks the third fatal tiger attack in less than a month in the Saragur taluk region.

According to forest officials, the tiger dragged Naika's body about 25 meters from the initial attack site, near an elephant-proof trench, and partially devoured it.
