The Church of South India (CSI) Madhya Kerala Diocese is launching an innovative initiative to equip its congregations with tools to address climate change.
The Ecumenical Decade of Climate Justice Action begins on January 29th, marking the official start of this faith-driven environmental movement. Bishop Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian will inaugurate 12 new Climate Action Groups and a 12-month plan, demonstrating how faith communities can translate contemplation into concrete local action.
Each Climate Action Group will comprise 25-30 parishes, focusing on ecological concerns, energy conservation, waste management, and reducing carbon footprints. The diocese also aims to transform all 405 parishes into green hubs within three years, guided by a green protocol.
