Two cherished bus services, the Wolds Explorer and Spurn Explorer, are making a comeback in East Yorkshire for their third consecutive year. East Riding of Yorkshire Council confirmed these routes will operate until the autumn, providing enhanced access to the region's natural beauty.
The services, run by East Yorkshire Buses, are available on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. A single fare costs £3, offering an economical way to explore.
The Wolds Explorer route connects Pocklington to Thixendale, passing through Millington, Huggate, and Fridaythorpe. It offers three services on Saturdays and two on Sundays in each direction until September 26.
The Spurn Explorer travels to Spurn Point Nature Reserve, serving Hull, Patrington, and the Spurn Discovery Centre. This route runs until November 1, with Saturday services from Hull and Sunday services from Withernsea.
Both initiatives are supported by council funding derived from the Department for Transport's bus service improvement funds, aiming to boost connectivity and visitor experience.
