Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to welcome visitors as the tourism season begins on November 1, 2025. The reserve, which comprises Dudhwa National Park, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary, and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, was closed for maintenance work following the monsoon season.
According to the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve field director, Dr. H. Rajamohan, all routes and accommodations have been prepared to facilitate the tourists. The guides accompanying the visitors have also been trained to provide detailed information about the rich biodiversity and wildlife found in Dudhwa.
The deputy field director, Jagdish R., stated that the Dudhwa and Sonaripur ranges, along with Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and the buffer zone, have been opened for tourists. However, the Sathiyana range will remain closed due to ongoing maintenance work.
Forest officials are expecting an increased footfall of tourists compared to previous seasons. Between November 2024 and April 2025, Dudhwa Tiger Reserve recorded 44,070 Indian and 574 foreign tourists, while the nearby Pilibhit Tiger Reserve welcomed 35,395 Indian and 342 foreign visitors.
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including royal Bengal tigers, elephants, rhinos, swamp deer, spotted deer, and over 400 species of birds. The reserve offers a unique opportunity for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers to explore this rich ecosystem.
