DPCC Accused of Hiding Yamuna Pollution Data
7 Mar
Summary
- Water quality reports for Yamuna and drains missing since January.
- STP and CETP reports are unavailable since December 2025.
- Delayed data hinders public scrutiny and pollution abatement efforts.

A Yamuna activist has alerted the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) about significant delays in publishing essential monthly water quality reports. These reports, crucial for monitoring pollution in the Yamuna River, its major drains, and Sewage and Common Effluent Treatment Plants (STPs & CETPs), have not been updated on the DPCC's portal for several months. Specifically, Yamuna and drain reports are missing since January, and STP/CETP data since December 2025.
This lack of transparency is hindering public scrutiny and efforts to rejuvenate the Yamuna. The activist highlighted that access to this data is a statutory obligation for the DPCC, enabling the assessment of environmental standards, treatment plant efficacy, and public health safeguards. Previous reports indicated high levels of pollutants like faecal coliform, phosphate, and ammoniacal nitrogen, with BOD exceeding safe limits, underscoring the urgency of accurate, timely data dissemination.
