Doncaster Green Space Under Siege by Vandals
15 Jan
Summary
- A charity is pleading for help to protect a green space from ongoing vandalism.
- Significant funds were recently spent to secure Market Street Field.
- Security measures have been damaged, and the site suffers fly-tipping.

Residents in Doncaster are being called upon to aid a mining charity in safeguarding a vital community green space, Market Street Field, which has become a target for vandalism and fly-tipping.
The Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation (CISWO) recently invested substantial funds, described as 'tens of thousands of pounds,' to improve security at the Highfields location. However, these efforts have been undermined by repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour.
CISWO's chief executive, Nicola Didlock, highlighted the ongoing issues, including vehicles like cars and quad bikes being used on the field, alongside persistent fly-tipping, which the charity continually works to address and clear.
