19 May
Summary
- Four new scuba diving sites were officially opened in Diglipur, North Andaman.
- Diglipur offers cleaner reefs and fewer crowds for an undiscovered diving experience.
- New sites range in depth from 2 to 31 meters, catering to all skill levels.

North Andaman's Diglipur is emerging as a prime eco-conscious diving destination with the recent unveiling of four new scuba sites. This initiative by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration aims to expand adventure tourism and alleviate pressure on the popular southern islands.
Diglipur now offers distinct diving experiences, from the beginner-friendly Pristine Shoreline Sanctuary (2-12m depth) to the deeper Wall of Craggy/Gentle Slope (8-31m depth), which may host manta rays and dugongs.
These officially recognized zones, including The Deep Blue Bridge and Small Wall off Ross Island, are expected to invigorate the local economy. Communities in Diglipur, Kalipur, and Aerial Bay can now participate more actively in the tourism sector.
