Leonardo DiCaprio has made a significant contribution to environmental awareness by releasing his latest documentary, "Yanuni," for free on his YouTube channel. This nearly two-hour film debuted on September 5, 2026, aligning with World Amazon Day, an observance dedicated to the protection of the vital Amazon rainforest.

The documentary centers on Juma Xipaia, an Indigenous chief from the Amazon region. It follows her powerful trajectory from dedicated activism to assuming a crucial role within Brazil's new Ministry of Indigenous Peoples. While her husband, a federal agent, combats illegal mining operations, Juma navigates the complex political landscape, facing threats and personal challenges.

Director Richard Ladkani expressed gratitude for DiCaprio's involvement, highlighting the international platform the film now has.
