Desert National Park Launches Camel Safaris for Eco-Tourism

The Desert National Park (DNP) has initiated eco-tourism with the introduction of camel and camel cart safaris. These safaris commenced on January 26th, offering tourists two routes, one at 5km and another at 10km, within the Sudasari area of the sanctuary. This pilot project aims to promote sustainable tourism in the protected wildlife area.
Further enhancing the eco-tourism experience, the forest department plans to offer binoculars and establish watchtowers for photography. Visitors may also have the opportunity to stay overnight in eco huts located within the sanctuary. Efforts are underway to ensure sightings of the Great Indian Bustard, the state bird, along with other desert wildlife like the Chinkara and Desert Fox.
