This service allowed visitors to skip long queues by scanning a QR code at the entrance and securing their tickets instantly. Visitors praised the new system, with one delighted parent saying, "This made our visit so smooth; we did not have to wait at all."
The zoo had been shut since August 30, 2025, after several waterbirds tested positive for avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu. However, multiple rounds of testing have since confirmed the absence of the virus, paving the way for the zoo's reopening under strict safety protocols.
The enthusiasm of the visitors was palpable, with families and school groups alike eager to explore the zoo's exhibits. One visitor, Sakshi Sinha, had come with her husband and niece, who was particularly fascinated by the tigers. "She has always been fascinated by tigers. She keeps pointing and asking questions about its stripes and habits. It is incredible to see her so engaged," Sinha said.
The zoo's reopening marks a significant milestone for the city, as it once again offers a popular destination for families and students to connect with nature and learn about the diverse wildlife.
