Delhi Cools as Storm Spares City, Kills Two in Haryana

Delhi experienced a welcome drop in temperature and relief from intense heat on Friday, thanks to a western disturbance. The system brought cooler, overcast conditions and light rain, significantly lowering the maximum temperature by several degrees Celsius compared to previous days. This rainfall also contributed to an improvement in Delhi's air quality, leading to the revocation of stage-I curbs under the Graded Response Action Plan.

However, the same weather system caused destruction in parts of Haryana. A thunderstorm triggered wall and roof collapses, leading to the tragic deaths of two children and injuring five others. Incidents in Nuh and Chandeni villages reported fatalities from collapsing walls, while another child was injured by lightning damage. The forecast indicates continued intermittent rain and gusty winds over the weekend in Delhi, with temperatures expected to remain moderate before rising again after June 3.
