Water supply in several parts of Delhi is severely impacted by technical issues and planned maintenance. In North Delhi, a major 800mm supply line from the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant has been damaged, causing disruptions expected to last until the morning of January 8. Repair work is underway on a war footing, but site constraints mean it could take over 24 hours.
Concurrently, South and Southeast Delhi residents are experiencing supply interruptions on January 5 and 6 due to a major maintenance shutdown at the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant. This plant supplies a wide area, with numerous localities like Kailash Nagar, Patparganj, and Khan Market expected to be affected. Residents are advised to store water.
