The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has initiated a significant project to upgrade 30 neighborhood green spaces into model parks by March 31, 2027. This initiative aims to transform local parks into complete recreational areas, drawing inspiration from successful projects like Baansera and Asita.
The scope of work involves comprehensive restoration, including lush lawns, vibrant seasonal flower beds, and improved pathways. Enhancements will also focus on creating aesthetically pleasing, safe, and vibrant public spaces. Families will soon have accessible, beautiful green spaces closer to their homes, saving travel time to more distant prominent gardens.
To ensure visitor safety and comfort, the DDA is intensively improving lighting, providing security guards, and implementing CCTV surveillance. Work is already underway in 24 of the designated parks, with a strong focus on timely completion. Several locations across Delhi are slated for these upgrades, promising a greener and more enjoyable urban environment.
