Delhi Air Quality Improves, Stage II Restrictions Lifted
18 Feb
Summary
- GRAP Stage-II restrictions in Delhi-NCR were revoked on Wednesday.
- Air quality improved due to favorable weather conditions and forecasts.
- Stage-I and II of GRAP were in effect since last year's October and November.

Authorities on Wednesday revoked Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage-II restrictions across Delhi-NCR following a notable improvement in air quality. Officials cited favorable meteorological conditions as the primary reason for this positive shift.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 214, an improvement from previous levels. Forecasts suggest the AQI is expected to remain in the poor or moderate category in the coming days, indicating a sustained stabilization of air quality.
GRAP Stage-I and II had been implemented since October 14 and November 19 of the previous year, respectively. The revocation brings relief from the measures imposed to combat severe air pollution.
Delhi also experienced light rain on Wednesday, with the minimum temperature recorded at 15.8 degrees Celsius, which is 4.8 degrees above the seasonal average. This weather change contributed to the improved air quality.
