A recent survey of 1,257 children aged 6 to 15 in Delhi-NCR indicates that escalating air pollution is severely affecting their physical and mental health. The study, named "Children Under Siege," was released by the NGO Chintan.
Conducted in December 2025 and January 2026, the survey found that approximately 70% of children felt stressed and worried due to the poor air quality. A significant 77% reported that polluted air induced feelings of anxiety, irritation, fear, or distress.
Notably, girls expressed experiencing higher levels of mental stress than boys. These findings highlight the pervasive impact of environmental pollution on the younger population in the region.
