Tiger's Mystery Death: 30-Day Decomposed Remains Found
1 May
Summary
- Adult tigress carcass found decomposed in Saoli forest range.
- Death is estimated to have occurred nearly 30 days prior.
- Body parts intact, ruling out poaching as initial cause.

In Chandrapur Forest Division's Saoli range, a grim discovery was made on Thursday morning. Forest patrol teams stumbled upon the highly decomposed carcass of an adult tigress in compartment number 314. Initial assessments suggest the majestic animal may have succumbed to death approximately 30 days before its remains were found.
Responding swiftly to the alert, senior forest officials, alongside veterinary experts and representatives from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), arrived at the scene. The panchnama revealed that while the carcass was severely decomposed, all body parts were found to be intact. This observation has, for now, ruled out any immediate suspicion of poaching or the illicit trade of tiger parts.
The advanced state of decomposition, however, presented a significant challenge. Experts were unable to conduct a post-mortem examination, which complicates the efforts to definitively ascertain the exact cause of the tigress's demise. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the animal's death continues.
