Countryside Parking Woes Solved: New Spaces to Ease Congestion

The popular spots of Raywell, near Cottingham, and Little Wauldby Farm Access Road, just off Swanland Dale, have long been plagued by double parking and vehicles parked "willy-nilly" on the grass, according to Rob Kendall, the director of Little Wauldby Farm. Councillor Paul Hopton stated that the new spaces will "absolutely benefit hundreds if not thousands of people in the years to come."
The 17 new spaces at Raywell and 40 along the farm access road are being funded by the government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Hopton, who worked with fellow councillor Richard Meredith to get the parking approved, said the scheme will "improve safety, reduce congestion, and protect the verge from damage."
With the influx of visitors to the Yorkshire Wolds' picturesque countryside, the current parking infrastructure has proven inadequate. The new spaces aim to provide a solution that balances the needs of the local community, farmers, and the growing number of tourists exploring the region.
