Summary
- Ten Cornwall beaches received Blue Flag status for water quality and safety.
- This is an increase from seven beaches last year to ten this year.
- Five additional beaches were recognized with Seaside Awards for 2026.

Ten beaches in Cornwall have successfully retained their Blue Flag status, a testament to their high standards in water quality, environmental management, and safety. This year's awards see an increase from seven to ten designated beaches. Cornwall Councillor Loic Rich celebrated the achievement, noting the world-class quality of Cornwall's coastline and encouraging visitors to maintain cleanliness and protect the marine environment.
These recognized beaches include Crooklets, Polzeath, Porthmeor, Porthminister, Porthmissen/Trevone, Porthtowan, Summerleaze, Widemouth, Gyllyngvase Beach, and the privately owned Carbis Bay. Visitors are advised to utilize beaches with RNLI cover and heed lifeguards' guidance.
Further bolstering the region's coastal accolades, five additional beaches—Crackington Haven, Great Western, Porth, Portreath, and Sennen—have been granted Seaside Awards for 2026. These awards acknowledge the best beaches in England and contribute to RNLI funding. This follows a period where South West Water admitted to historic pollution offenses between 2015 and 2021.
