District Collector Anand Mohan recently inspected crucial development works across the district's coastal regions. His visit included a close examination of road construction quality, particularly in Vijayapathi village, where he collected samples for testing due to concerns about a 750-meter stretch costing ₹1.90 crore.
The Collector also reviewed the progress of a vital groyne construction project in Thomaiyarpuram, near Radhapuram. This initiative, valued at ₹16.05 crore, aims to protect the community's fibreglass boats and shoreline properties from the detrimental effects of sea erosion and powerful tides.
Further engagements involved assessing the supply of domestic drinking water in Idinthakarai village and reviewing proposals for new infrastructure, including roads, bridges, culverts, and buildings in various coastal hamlets during a meeting at the Radhapuram tahsildar office. Several officials accompanied the Collector during these inspections.
