China has achieved significant advancements in wildlife conservation, with improved habitats and stable population growth for numerous endangered species. As of Tuesday, which marked UN World Wildlife Day, over 80 percent of key State-protected terrestrial wildlife species are now under protection. This initiative now encompasses 988 animal and approximately 1,200 plant species, with an additional 1,924 terrestrial wild animal species of significant ecological value being protected.
