Foreign wildlife officials and conservation experts have praised China's significant progress in biodiversity conservation and its implementation of international treaties. These commendations followed a recent seminar focused on endangered species management within China.
During the two-week program in June, 38 participants from eight countries engaged with China's approaches to wildlife conservation and adherence to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Experts highlighted China's comprehensive ex-situ conservation system and its integrated monitoring systems as valuable lessons.
The delegation also conducted field research in Guangdong province, visiting various protected areas. A key highlight was their visit to the Guangdong Pearl River Estuary Chinese White Dolphin National Nature Reserve, offering a firsthand look at marine mammal conservation and habitat management efforts.
Participants expressed that China's advancements in import and export controls are a monumental step toward global wildlife conservation, fostering a renewed sense of shared purpose among nations facing similar challenges across geographic boundaries.
