California Hiker's Terrifying Bear Charge Caught on Video

A recent hiking trip in California's Los Angeles National Forest took a frightening turn when a bear confronted a hiker on the Mount Wilson Trail. Footage shared online shows the moment the bear stood before the hiker, who then attempted to scare it off. The bear subsequently charged the individual.

Another hiker captured the entire incident, noting that the first hiker had tried to alert others to the bear's presence. The witness later confirmed hiding until the bear departed and observing it lingering on the trail. Both hikers involved and the bear emerged from the encounter unharmed.

This event serves as a reminder of bear safety. Experts advise that bears are intelligent and prefer to avoid conflict. Proper preparation includes identifying potential bear habitats, recognizing signs of their presence like tracks and droppings, and storing food securely. Making noise while hiking, especially in dense areas or near water, can alert bears to human presence.
