Chhattisgarh's Bhoramdeo Sanctuary Launches 34km Eco-Tourism Route

Chhattisgarh's Bhoramdeo wildlife sanctuary has officially opened a 34km jungle safari route, designed to significantly enhance eco-tourism. This new route traverses scenic stretches, including waterfalls and panoramic viewpoints, offering tourists an immersive experience. The sanctuary, home to diverse flora and fauna such as bison and tigers, also serves as a vital wildlife corridor connecting reserves in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The initiative integrates conservation efforts with community development, offering eco-cottages, nature trails, and guided safaris. Local women's self-help groups will manage 'Vananchal Rasoi' for local cuisine, and handicraft activities will be promoted. This aims to create direct and indirect employment for approximately 30 local residents, fostering sustainable development. The Bhoramdeo sanctuary is historically significant, featuring the ancient Bhoramdeo temple, often called the "Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh." The opening of this safari route seeks to establish Bhoramdeo as a prime eco-tourism destination, balancing ecological preservation with active community involvement.
