Bengaluru Gets Wildlife Ambulance

Anil Kumble, Karnataka Forest & Wildlife Ambassador, recently inaugurated a specialized urban wildlife ambulance in Bengaluru. This initiative, a collaboration between Tekion and Praana Animal Foundation, aims to enhance emergency services for wildlife facing increasing urban development challenges.

The specially designed ambulance is prepared for a broad spectrum of rescues, including birds, reptiles, monkeys, and smaller mammals. It features a trained para-veterinarian and essential medical equipment for immediate on-site care and secure transport. The vehicle also supports the Forest Department in high-risk rescues of larger animals that venture into populated areas.

Animals rescued will be taken to Bannerghatta Biological Park or Birds of Paradise Rehabilitation Centre. This project, part of Tekion's CSR initiative 'Tekion for Good,' addresses critical infrastructure gaps in urban wildlife rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation, fostering collaboration between corporations, civil society, and government for ecosystem care.
